Vanilla Street Bakery sits quietly in Laguna Hills as a spot where breakfast and casual lunch come with a touch of refined bakery charm. Straddling categories as a bakery, café, and breakfast restaurant, it offers an experience that blends a laid-back morning ritual with the appeal of freshly made pastries and thoughtful café fare.

Locals here tend to arrive throughout the morning and early afternoon, drawn by solid coffee and a menu that leans into comforting yet well-crafted dishes. The salmon eggs Benedict and other egg dishes like the sunrise skillet provide substantial options for anyone not in a rush but wanting a satisfying breakfast or lunch. The vibe stays calm and unhurried, with no bustling crowd, making it a place where you can enjoy both a quiet solo coffee or a low-key midweek catch-up.

The baked goods and sweets on offer stand out as an integral part of the experience. The display case isn’t just eye candy — items like macarons, Medovik cake, Pavlova, and pecan cake clearly receive careful attention, offering fresh, moist textures and balanced sweetness. These treats complement the coffee well and also serve as a reason to stop by for an afternoon pick-me-up or to grab a takeaway dessert.

Behind the counter, staff are approachable and willing to guide first-timers through the menu or pastry selection, adding a local friendliness that suits the neighborhood’s relaxed pace. Vanilla Street Bakery’s setting in a small strip mall doesn’t overshadow the warmth inside; rather, it feels like a dependable community spot where quality and comfort meet without fuss.

Best for: Those seeking a quiet breakfast or lunch with excellent coffee and pastries in a casual, friendly environment.

Who will enjoy it most: Early risers, remote workers looking for a calm corner, and families or small groups who appreciate handcrafted sweets alongside their meal.

Best time to visit: Mid-morning to early afternoon, avoiding the rush and catching the bakery at its freshest.

Atmosphere: Low-key and inviting with a neighborhood café feel, where the focus is on fresh, thoughtfully prepared food and pastries without the typical bakery hustle.

What a great find. I ordered the sunrise skillet for lunch. It’s like shukshuka and is freshly house made. Other breakfasts and lunch items on the menu sound delicious too. And the Pasteries and cakes look amazing!

The macarons are superb! They were moist, creamy, and so soft. My whole family loved them. Also, the pecan cake that my mom ordered was delicious. We all slowly savored every bite like it was our last. And last but not least, the baker was so friendly. The moment we walked into the shop, she was willing to answer any questions anyone had about their order. I will definitely come back for more another time.

Loved this place so much! Everything we tried was really good, and the pastries were especially delicious. Perfect texture, great flavor, and clearly made with care. Honestly one of my favorite bakeries. Can’t wait to come back again when we’re visiting again

Quality breakfast for a price. No crowds. Nice atmosphere and employees. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and espresso. They were eggs-celent. FYI, Lana Rosewood is AI

Vanilla Street Bakery is an absolute gem. Everything is fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. You can really tell they care about quality and consistency. The pastries are perfectly balanced—not overly sweet—and the presentation is just as good as the taste. On top of that, the staff is welcoming and genuinely kind, which makes the whole experience even better. Easily a go-to spot when you want something special done right.

Absolutely one of the best desserts I have ever had. My wife brought me here wanting me to have a piece, of all things, Russian Honey Cake. If you've never had a piece you'll wanna stop by and indulge. The cake is rich but in a good way, not overly. The layers of honey cake are almost like a Graham cracker crust. She offers a multitude of baked goods. This is a small intimate bakery putting heart and soul into every item. She offers some breakfast/lunch items like avacado toast, eggs Benedict, etc. She also has an espresso machine making fresh coffee drinks. There are several small tables, a larger table for a small party and a quaint patio. Stop by and support a fantastic bakery
